I saw Ms. Larsen's first book Family Magic on BookBub.com and thought it sounded interesting, a which demon gal, different. That hooked me to buy the first story in the 20 book series. The writing and characters kept me hooked through the remaining 19 books. I rarely will buy Ebooks when they're $5.99 ... after Family Magic I didn't blink, just bought the next one and downloaded. I just had to see what was going to happen next. I really got invested in the story line, wanting to know what twists and turns would happen next. I don't know how many times I burst out laughing or cried my eyes out as the story unfolded (make sure you have a box of tissues for the last couple books you'll need them), or how often I didn't want to put the book down (but had to because my lunch hour was over) The characters were believable ... some you fell in love with, others you loved to hate. Anything I write about the story will give away what happens, but so you have to read them and see what happened. You won't be sorry you picked them up. I just wish there was more after book story, but there are more in the Hayle Coven universe. I read the books one after another, so this is the same review for all of them.I'm 50 and enjoy young adult books because the lack of sex scenes in them You get to know the characters more in them. Although Syd does have sex in some of them, there is no description of it, just mentioned that she did have it and maybe waking up with her boyfriend. My niece is 14 and I'd give them to her to read.

At last in this book is some resolution of at least some of the major threads in the story. It continues to surprise me that a YA story can hold my attention so well. Looking forward to reading the next book!
When it comes to fictional heroines, Syd's my hero!
From book one, the Hayle Coven Series has been a compelling and mysterious adventure. Larsen's main character, Sydlynn Hayle, even in the midst of teen angst, is completely endearing. You can't help but feel for her as she handles the crazy ups and downs of being part demon and part witch with a few other magical entities thrown in.
No one includes a better mix of action, adventure, romance, and humor in one story than Patti Larsen and this installment of the Hayle Coven Novels is no different. I love Larsen's writing and characters and how easy it is to become immersed in the world(s) of her imagination. I not only recommend this book and series but anything written by her.
It has been one wild ride following the life of Sydlynn Hayle of the Hayle witch coven! Sydlynn has powers from her demon father, her coven leader mother & has just discovered she has sidhe powers as well! For a young girl who only wanted to be normal to a girl who is now more powerful than them all, her life is anything but normal. The Hayle Coven Novels are well written & exciting. Highly recommended!
I really like this series. It is great to see Syd growing and coming into her own. Finally accepting what she is meant to be - an important part of the family. I also like the fact that you never really know what is going to happen next. I did figure out the thing with Gram though.
Getting ready to start the next!
This book twisted and turned so much that it was hard to keep up! I think there were three sub-plots as well as the main storyline..! There was a lot more teenager-y ewwy gooey-iness in this one which almost brought it down a star, but I will over look it because I was waiting on it. Totally floored by the ending and can't wait for the next book.
Syd just wanted to be normal her whole life and finally in a round about way her wish was granted. Now being normal "sucked" and she realized just what she had and wants it back. Brad is no longer interested in her because she is normal and even Quaid seems to be running in the opposite direction. Prom night literally turns into the night from hell and to add insult to injury, her boyfriend Brad dumps her. Life couldn't get much worse - or could it? In a desperate race against time, Syd must find her demon before all hell breaks loose and help the coven defend itself against a supernatural enemy to save the world. No pressure right, Syd gets assistance from an unlikely source and tracks down her demon but also uncovers just why her magic won't meld together with her demon and the outcome is startling. All the pieces of the puzzle fall into place finally and will it be enough to protect her family.
