I’m not actually finished with the book, so I might the change my stars once I finish. Has no one noticed that the character named a David has been renamed Daniel in this book? That’s a pretty big continuity issue. I’m also just frustrated with the characters. They haven’t been together long enough to really be deeply in love, and their behavior suggests they are mostly just in lust. If you truly love someone you should feel comfortable enough to have difficult conversations. For Ivy to not feel comfortable enough to even tell Ren she is having nightmares is ridiculous.Tags : Brave (A Wicked Trilogy) (Volume 3) [Jennifer L. 5 stars!
Perfect ending to this trilogy!
Brave is the third book in the Wicked Saga, you need to have read Wicked and Torn before reading this book. So there may be spoilers about the other two books in this review, but no spoilers about this book specifically. Ivy has escaped the fae Prince Drake, being rescued by Ren and some good fae. Now she lives in a good fae haven, dealing with some serious PTSD from being held captive. Pulling away from her friends and loved ones, Ivy retreats into herself more and more. But with the threat of the Prince finding them and ending the world, she needs to shape up and get her act in gear to save the world.
Jennifer Armentrout is one of those very few authors that my reading tastes click with. And I mean I love her books, every single time. Reading her books is like coming home to your bestie and falling effortlessly into that friendship mode. Does that make any sense? This series also feels like a gift to the readers, she takes time out of her busy publishing schedule to bring us a fun indie PNR series. It's a readers treat!
Everyone loves Tink, let's be real. Half the reviews on here are about him. And I ADORE TINK. I want to hug him and never let go! He reminds me a lot of Jenks from the Kim Harrison Hollows series. My dream book would have a collaboration between Tink and Jenks in their own book. MIND BLOWN! And his connection with a new character? Seriously amazing and I want Tink to get his own book. Like yesterday.
Ivy and Ren... *sigh*. Hashtag couple goals! Ren is amazing and the way he loves Ivy is even better. I didn't want this book to ever end. I will be holding out for any and all spin offs that come from this series! And if you haven't started this series yet because you were waiting for it to be done......... well it's done so you have no excuse and should be reading book 1 right now instead of my review! I mean it!
I fell in love with this series! The first book was AMAZING! I laughed so hard and almost cried.also very sweet and sexy. I didn't have to wait very long for next in the series and also enjoyed it. It was sadder but i still re-read both books many times before the release of this book Brave. I was beyond happy when i bought it. I haven't finished it yet..I lost interest..ivy stated acting immature and kind of dumb. I can understand she went through an ordeal and that she is strong and brave BUT relying on the strength of a loved one to help you through rough times takes courage too! I honestly thought maybe she hired a ghost writer to finish this series. I've read many of her books and this one felt so different...bad editing, character name change etc. maybe she lost interest in this series? Took her forever to release Brave, so i expected better. I will finish the book but I'm In no hurry..which saddens me
As always J.L.A is the expert of romance. I have waited and dreamed of the continuation of this series for forever and though my expectations probably were a bit too high, resulting in a bit of disappointment, I really enjoyed Brave.
I love Jennifer L Armentrout’s humor. That’s what made me start reading her books obsessively after reading half blood. Well, the humor and the romance of course. It’s just something about it that sticks out and really draws me to it. I guess I’m just a sucker for sarcasm and bits, which J.L.A major in. In Brave however, I feel that Armentrout did not put as much effort behind it and that disappointed me a bit as the humor is a big factor as to why I love her writing style. That’s not to say that there wasn’t anything humorous or funny at all. There absolutely were and that lifted the book a lot. I just wished there were more.
Despite being somewhat disappointed in the joke department, J.L.A certainty raised the bar with the action, romance and general girl power. That’s actually another reason why I love her books so much. You will never find the damsel in distress stereotype when you read any of her books. All women fight for independence, are strong and capable. Basically, they kick a**. There is no men walking over them, especially in the relationships. Ren and Ivy are equals and that’s what made me fall in love with their relationship. Sure, there were arguments and fights, but in the end they always met in the middle. Plus, the arguments they had only added to the drama, which according to me, every good book should have. Despite maybe a few too many cheesy declarations and lines, their relationship was perfect. There were drama, passion, chemistry, compatibility and humor. Everything you want in a romance book!
However perfect the romance was, the storyline and ending could have been better. It did not feel like that much was happening in this book compared to the previous ones and honestly, it felt too short and rushed at the end. Without giving anything away, the ending was sort anticlimactic. There were answers we readers never got, like Tinks real name, who he actually is and who Ivy’s real parents are. Still, I did like the plot twist and the unique and some odd personalities (like Tink) really compensated that. My only question after finishing the story is, is this the end of this series? Is this the end to the world J.L.A has created? The fact that it ended the way it did and so many unanswered questions were left in the air, it feels more like a cliffhanger than a conclusion. I really hope Armentrout has some future plans for this world. I would not mind that at all.
